This promises to change how amateur esports works for many people, but how will it work?
What is happening?
For a long time, we've witnessed a gap between the accessibility of amateur tournaments and semi-professional tournaments not only based on skill but also because of financial differences. Many tier 2 organizations have a sponsor or patron who is willing to fund the team as it participates in tournaments, however, smaller teams and organizations lack the necessary funding to participate in weekly events that can cost up to $50. The adaption of this has been the creation of scrim organizations, however, these lack the true environment of a tournament that teams need to really hone their skills and prepare for future events. In addition, tournaments typically offer prizing and visibility that is desperately needed for non-professional organizations.
NESO has seen these issues and developed a system that allows for minimal financial restraint while also promising to offer an opportunity to both amateur and semi-professional organizations to participate. NESO will be releasing a premier subscription that is available to all players and covers the cost of their entire team playing for an entire month. This means that for either $19.99/monthly or $6.99/weekly, teams will be able to participate in NESO tournaments hosted every single week without needing to pay any extra money.
The hope is that this will allow teams who want to participate in continuous events an opportunity to do so without needing the same levels of funding available to professional organizations.
The prize pools are proportionate to the allowed size of each tournament, with each 16-team tournament featuring a $250 prize pool, with Sundays featuring a bit extra to bring it up to $500. Every Sunday will feature a full casting crew along with hosts and production staff. This will allow the best teams to highlight their skills every week!
NESO will be working with VLR.gg and TheSpike.gg to create monthly tournaments with visibility on their platforms, which will likely have a higher prize pool.
How can my team sign up?

How do we then sign up for events?
To sign up for an event, teams simply have to follow their usual process of going through upcoming events, finding an event they like, and choosing the appropriate ticket option for their team. Upon selecting a ticket, when they go to check-out, it'll be automatically discounted and, they'll have no charge associated with the ticket. The person who purchased the subscription must be the one to sign their team up for the event for it to automatically apply the discount.
Can you still participate without a membership?
Yes, however, teams will be required to purchase entry into events if they do not have a membership.
Do you offer collegiate or high school discounts?
How long is the free trial?
We allow all teams to participate for one week for free to try out our subscription and tournaments. This does not change any prizing, meaning you will keep all of the money you win!
